What the researchers discovered:
1. Drug trials exaggerated the benefits and downplayed the negative effects. Pharmaceutical companies compensated the authors of at least three of the larger studies!
2. Compared drug to placebo (sugar pill) and both had same amount of benefit and the placebo without the negative effects
3. Concluded that “confidently recommending these drugs would be inappropriate.”
